Making a baby – it’s not as easy as it looks, despite the “oops, I’m pregnant” stories that abound on TV, (not to mention in my own family).  Sometimes it takes tears, a team of experts and a whole lot of patience.

This is not my first blog. When I first moved to Los Angeles in 2005, I needed a place to write about my adjustment to a new city after more than a decade in San Francisco. For no particular reason at all (aside from the fact that I believe in dental floss), I called this blog Floss Daily. Something I tried to do every day. With lots of time on my hands, I then added a cooking blog. These missives from the land of Floss went by the wayside when I started graduate school in the fall of 2007.  I was also planning a wedding at the same time. Bye bye blogging.

Now I’m done with that chapter, and embarking on a new one. Having a baby. It hasn’t gone quite according to plan.  And that’s where the story picks up again. Welcome to Floss Baby.

More about me? I’m in my late 30s (fuck). I live with my husband, (who I married in 2008)  in Echo Park in Los Angeles. I used to be a marketing copywriter but went back to school to get an M.A. in Clinical Psychology and am now racking up hours to get my MFT license. I work with kids with autism but still do freelance marketing work part-time. I can’t seem to leave that world behind, which is confusing, but it helps with covering the costs of getting knocked up.
